Chinese traditional artist from Junshan Island, China

Early talent and artistic lineage
Li Qian was born in 1970 on the picturesque Junshan Island in Dongting Lake. He grew up surrounded by nature and was taught to read, write, and paint by his father, Li Shuisheng, a respected bonsai master, landscape designer, and calligrapher-painter. By age 5, Li Qian showed strong artistic sensitivity and talent. At age 10, he was featured by Hunan Daily for his exceptional skill, especially in ink bamboo and Dongting shrimp. He won the Youth Fine Arts First Prize in Yueyang.

Artistic style and achievements
Li Qian is known for his expressive Chinese landscape paintings. His work captures the four seasons, the vitality of nature, and the emotional atmosphere of Dongting Lake. He is a member of the Yueyang Calligraphers Association and Yueyang Artists Association.

In 2023, he held a major joint exhibition with his father: “Xiaoxiang Dongting “潇湘洞庭” • Li Qian Mountain & Water Paintings and Li Shuisheng Bonsai Art Exhibition”, featuring 120 of his works, including 12 large-scale pieces, 75 scrolls, and 33 small square works (斗方).
